I hold a Master of Clinical Psychology and I have provided treatment for clients experiencing a very wide range of mental health issues. I have particular training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to work with people with emotion dysregulation (feeling emotions quite intensely and often times using impulsive behaviours to manage these feelings). Furthering my commitment to the profession of psychology, I am currently completing the clinical registrar program to obtain endorsement as a clinical psychologist, which is an extended period of additional supervised practice and professional development.

I draw mainly on Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) in my work. CBT is the gold standard approach for most psychological issues, and is a great foundation for understanding and working on problems. I also like to incorporate and/or use Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), particularly when CBT doesn't fit for the problems you have, or it hasn't worked in the past. I am part of the GlowDBT team of clinicians, and I co-facilitate our DBT skills groups. Above all, I like to approach our work together from a human-to-human approach, paying attention to our therapeutic relationship and listening to the goals you want to achieve. My aim is to create a space that allows you to feel safe and supported whilst you are exploring what it is that has led you to therapy.

Supporting Your Own Growth: How You Can Help Make Therapy Successful

Therapy is most effective when it's a collaborative effort. Here are a few ways you can actively support your own healing and make the most of our time together:

  • Attend Regularly
Consistency builds momentum and helps us maintain focus on your goals. If life gets in the way, we’ll work together to stay on track.

  • Be Willing to Share and Collaborate
Talking about your current concerns and being open to different ways of addressing them helps keep our work grounded and responsive to what you’re going through right now.

  • Practice strategies between sessions
At times, you may be invited to try exercises, practice strategies, or reflect on something between sessions. These "homework" tasks are designed to support your goals and bring therapy into your day-to-day life.

Qualifications

  • Master of Clinical Psychology

  • Honours of Psychological Science

  • Bachelor of Business Management

  • Bachelor of Science (extended major in Psychology)

Let's get to know Chloe

Q. What is one of your favourite psychology approaches and why?

A. I love Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. The main reason I love DBT is because I see it as a life philosophy rather than just a therapy. I think this is one of the reasons that it can create lasting change in people’s lives.

Q. What drew you to a career as a psychologist?
A. I have always loved connecting with others in an authentic and compassionate way. Being able to do this daily felt like a wonderful thing to do as a job.

Q. Do you use psychology strategies in your everyday life?
A. Of course! Sadly, therapists are not immune to life’s hardships. I particularly love Wise Mind (the inner wisdom all of us have that balances our feelings and rational mind), and constantly draw from this skill to help with difficulties.

Q. Favourite food?
A. It’s got to be hazelnut chocolate.

Q. Do you have any pets?
A. Yes, I have a super cute little black dog called Alice!

Q. What do you like to do in your spare time?
A. In the last couple of months, I have realised that I love crafting – particularly embroidery. When I don’t have the brain space for this, I love to go for walks with Alice, watch trashy TV and cook yummy food.

Booking with us

At The Glow Centre, all of our clinicians share a passion for helping people find their glow.

All work with common issues such as anxiety, depression and stress. In addition, each of our clinicians has their own areas of special interest, training and experience.

Each of our psychologists have different wait times, depending on their caseload and commitments. At times, some of our clinicians may not be taking new clients. Our intake team members are trained to match you with the clinician best suited for you, based on your age, availability, and the specific issues you are struggling with.
If your doctor has recommended that you see a particular clinician who is not available to take new clients, our intake team will assist in matching you with a clinician who has similar experience in the issue you are needing help with.

We see clients from Monday to Thursday (each individual clinician will consult on some or all of these days), by appointment only. Consulting times will vary per clinician, but generally from 9:00am-3:30pm. We understand that our consulting times may not align with everyone's schedule, but we recommend considering whether you can arrange for temporary adjustments to your schedule for the course of your therapy treatment. If your mental health concerns are interfering with work or study, taking time out to work on them can be beneficial in the long run.
